Denis was born in Lewiston Maine and began a lifelong interest in art at age nine. Originally working in oils, Denis stopped painting at 20. However, in 1994, after encouragement from many who had seen his work, he tried his hand at watercolors and has been going ever since. Although inspired by Andrew Wyeth, Denis is self taught which has enabled him to remain true to his own style. You can see Denis' work at various shows he attends in the winter months.
